MIS, ISD, ISPM Graduate Program Financial Assistance
The George Washington University strives to admit the most qualified candidates regardless of their financial situation. GW's financial assistance program includes scholarships, fellowships, loans, graduate assistantships, and employment opportunities. Assistance is available from sources both within and outside the University. Awards are competitive and many carry specific responsibilities.
Merit-based Assistance
The deadline for consideration for merit-based assistance is February 1st for fall semester. To be considered, answer "Yes" in the Financial Aid section of the Graduate Admissions Application when asked if you wish to be considered for a fellowship or graduate assistantship.
Need-based Assistance
The deadline for consideration for need-based assistance is March 1st for summer session, May 1st for fall semester, and October 1st for spring semester. Federal need-based aid programs require U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status and at least half-time attendance. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance, Rice Hall, 3rd floor, The George Washington University, 2121 Eye Street, NW, Washington, DC 20052; 202-994-6620; 800-222-6242 for further assistance.
Special Tuition Payment Plans
The Student Accounts Office (801 22nd Street, NW; 202-994-7350) offers deferred payment plans for tuition costs. If you register for six credit hours or more per semester, you may pay one-half of your bill at registration and pay the second half by the eighth week of class. Interest on the unpaid balance is charged at 12% annually and accrues beginning the first day of class.
The University also offers a 10-month payment plan that allows you to pay the full year's tuition in 10 monthly installments. There is no set-up fee or interest charged as long as monthly payments are made on-time. Please contact Student Accounts at sao@gwu.edu for more information.
